As a proud supporter of the Galvin Foundation, Tourism Training Australia is dedicated to furthering the Foundation's mission of providing education and training opportunities for students pursuing careers in the tourism, travel, and hospitality industry.

The Galvin Foundation was established in memory of William (Bill) Galvin OAM, a prominent figure in Australia's travel, tourism, and hospitality industry who passed away in 2018. Bill Galvin, a former TAFE NSW teacher, held numerous leadership positions and was a highly respected leader in the industry. He dedicated his career to training and supporting young people in the industry, which earned him the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 1997.

Today, the Galvin Foundation continues Bill's legacy by administering a range of bequests made by Bill himself. One of the Foundation's initiatives is the William R Galvin Memorial Scholarship, which was first awarded in 2019. The scholarship provides financial support for Australian Tourism and Hospitality TAFE students who aspire to further their training in Australia and overseas.

If you recently completed an eligible qualification in tourism, travel, and hospitality at TAFE NSW, you may be eligible to apply for the William R Galvin Memorial Scholarship. Don't miss this opportunity to pursue your dreams in the industry and further your education.

Selection Criteria

The William R Galvin Memorial Scholarship honours outstanding TAFE NSW students who have a strong commitment and passion for the tourism and hospitality industry. The Foundation recognises and supports exceptional individuals who show dedication and promise in the tourism and hospitality industry.
By empowering the next generation of industry leaders, the Galvin Foundation aims to inspire and make a positive impact on the industry.
